As recommended by scientists, daily disinfection of housing with disinfectant solution and frequent hand washing are necessary for COVID-19 prevention.
Here are some effective way to disinfect your house that you can do with ease.
Methods for sterilizing and preventing COVID-19 at home
Wash your hands with soap and clean water
The necessary times to wash your hands are right after you go home; after coughing, sneezing; after handling, grasping, contacting with potentially dangerous items such as elevator control panels, door handles, stair handrails… after going to the toilet; after cleaning for children and the sick; before eating; before and after food processing and when your hands are dirty.
In the absence of soap and clean water, use hand sanitizer or medical alcohol solution containing at least 60% alcohol to disinfect your hands. Avoid buying fake antibacterial hand sanitizers.
Disinfect contact surfaces
At home, you need to clean and disinfect surfaces and everyday items. Areas that are frequently touched such as table tops, door handles, hand tools, tables, toilets, faucets, sinks should be given priority for cleaning and disinfection.
You can use common detergents such as multi-purpose cleaning spray bottle, or mix yourself some toilet detergent with 10ml of cleaning solution and 1 liter of water – this is a virus-killing solution to wipe surfaces.
For non-waterproof surfaces, items such as air conditioners, televisions, light switches, computers, other electronic devices, use alcohol 70% to disinfect them (with a clean cloth). After wiping the surfaces with alcohol, let it dry naturally without washing again with water.
Disconnect the device before disinfecting.
Note: you should disinfect them daily, from clean places to dirty places, from inside to outside, from top to bottom.
You can use a rag or washcloth to soak common detergents or some disinfectant solutions such as solutions containing 0.05% active chlorine (leave it there for at least 10 minutes); 0.1% active chlorine (leave it there for at least 1 minutes); or solution containing at least 60% alcohol to clean the surfaces.
Some other areas such as the floors, walls, furniture, sales booths, children’s play areas, toilets… should be disinfected at least once a day.
Dispose masks, tissues daily
You should wear a mask when going out. Used masks, napkins, tissues must be put in separate garbage bags and taken away for daily disposal.
In addition to the above methods, you need to eat enough nutrients, drinking enough water, doing enough physical activity and exercise.
