A banana cake can be made without requiring any complicated techniques. We just need to pour all the ingredients into the bowl, mix until there is a very smooth mixture and bake, and there will be a sweet, good-smelling and extremely soft banana cake.
The ingredients are nothing complicated and from this basic recipe you can also transform into many different types of cakes, such as lining the bananas at the bottom of the mold to make the cake upside down, or adding nuts to the cake, or dried fruits, or rolled oats on top of the cake with the seeds in the cake to make it a healthy snack.
How to make a delicious banana cake
- 300 grams of bananas
- 160 grams of sugar
- 120 ml of cooking oil
- 120 ml of unsweetened fresh milk
- 1 egg (weight 60 – 65 grams with shell)
- 200 grams of all-purpose flour
- 5 grams of baking soda (baking soda)
- 2 grams of salt
- 100 grams of chocolate chip
How to do it
Turn on the oven at 175 degrees C if using a light-colored mold (165 degrees C with a dark mold). Allow the oven to heat on 2 fire mode for 10-15 minutes.
Line baking paper into the mold or add a thin layer of butter over the bottom of the mold and sprinkling a thin layer of dough on top. Turn the mold upside down to make the excess dough fall out.
Peel the bananas, using a smooth fork, in a large bowl.
Add in ingredients including sugar, cooking oil, milk and eggs, mix well. We have a mixture of wet ingredients.
In another large bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt together, use a sieve to make it smooth. We have a dry mix of ingredients.
Mix the dry ingredients in step (4) into the wet ingredients in step (3). Using a whisk, mix until it becomes homogeneous and smooth.
Pour about ¾ of the amount of chocolate chip into the mixture and mix well. Keep some to sprinkle on the cake surface. Chocolate chip is an optional ingredient. If you do not eat a lot of sweet, you should reduce the sugar in the recipe. You can use dried fruits or nuts instead of chocolate chips.
Fill about ¾ of the mold with the mixture.
Bake at 175 degrees C (165 degrees with dark mold) for about 50 – 60 minutes until the cake surface turn yellow. Skew a toothpick into the middle of the cake, if the toothpick is dry, you’re good to turn off the heat. Remove the cake from the oven and turn it upside down so it will cool completely. The cake will have a quite dark color.
Note: Baking time will vary depending on the size of the mold. The bigger the mold, the longer the baking time. If baking in cupcake or muffin molds, the average time taken is 20-25 minutes.
To make this cake more nutritious, try replacing white sugar with brown sugar, and replacing cooking oil with peanut oil and coconut oil. Since both oils have a strong odor, use 60 ml each in this recipe. The result is very good and extremely good for health.
